BARILOCHE MX RACE TRACK, THE NEW HOME OF THE YPF MXGP OF ARGENTINA

BARILOCHE (Argentina) 28 January 2026 – FIM Motocross World Championship will kick off the 2026 season with the YPF MXGP of Argentina on March 7-8 in San Carlos de Bariloche, in the province of Río Negro, held at Bariloche MX Race Track, the new track designed to host the world's motocross elite.

Designed by Spaniard Gabriel Villada, the new track has a total extension of 1,800 meters (and a total of 21 turns - 11 left, 10 right) and runs counter-clockwise, designed to offer a technical and challenging layout. 80 riders (from the MXGP and MX2 categories - for riders under 23 years old) will compete in Argentina, putting their skills to the test in each section of the track.

Throughout the track, riders will face a combination of flat, downhill and uphill jumps that require precision and control, more than 18 rollers of different sizes distributed across different sections, both on turns and straights, turns with natural slopes that will require careful reading of the terrain and a remarkable triple uphill jump that is sure to be one of the most exciting features of the track.

In addition, the circuit features a 25-metre difference in elevation between its highest and lowest points. The ground consists of sandy soil, adding an extra technical element to what will be a weekend of pure motocross at the MXGP Argentina YPF.

As is customary in MXGP, the new Bariloche MX Race Track will feature its own Village, a space specifically designed for the public to enjoy a variety of food options and visit the stands of the leading brands in the sector, contributing to a complete experience beyond the track.

YPF MXGP of Argentina 2026 is already shaping up to be an unforgettable weekend, with a first-class setting, a track with unique characteristics and the presence of the world's best riders, consolidating Bariloche as one of the most attractive venues of the season.

TEAM MADDII HONDA – ABF ITALIA: ALL EYES ON THE SEASONAL DEBUT

Team Maddii Honda – ABF Italia has officially kicked off the new sporting season with the official photo shoot, which featured all the team’s riders together with the technical and management staff.

The shoot represented an important moment of sharing and identity for the team, capturing the colors, partners, and spirit with which the squad will face the 2026 season. A symbolic occasion that marks the beginning of a new chapter, driven by determination, professionalism, and passion for racing.

After completing pre-season activities, the focus of Team Maddii Honda – ABF Italia is now on the first major competitive event of the year. Over the weekend of February 1st, 2026, the team will make its official racing debut in Sardinia for a pre-season race ahead of the YPF MXGP of Argentina.

A prestigious and demanding challenge, which will see the team competing against the top names on the international scene, on a technical and spectacular circuit. The goal is to start the season in the best possible way, bringing to the track the work carried out over the winter and confirming the team’s competitiveness.

Marco Maddii, Team Manager: “We’re finally there, the first races are about to begin. The winter flew by and went quite well overall, with no major issues. It was an intense off-season during which we worked hard on all fronts: organizational and logistical aspects, as well as engine and suspension development. It was a period of great effort. We are at a good point, both with the bikes and with the riders, but there is still a lot to do, so I don’t expect a spectacular start to the season. However, in the first races we will certainly push to achieve good results that can confirm the solid work done so far. A bit of patience will be needed, but the important thing is to understand that we are on the right path, to have good feelings, and then continue to grow throughout the season, both as a team and as riders. That said, I would like to thank everyone who has taken part in this adventure, starting with Honda, ABF, RedMoto, Motul, and Newfren, our technical partners Suomy, Eleveit, and Shot, and everyone who makes this new adventure possible”

MXGP OFFICIALLY APPROVED TEAMS LIST RELEASED FOR LANDMARK 2026 SEASON!

MONACO (Principality of Monaco) 24 January 2026 – The 2026 MXGP season is looking to be one of the most exciting series in recent memory as the OAT list contains a massive stack of talent set to compete for the FIM Motocross World Championship title, with 15 GP winners entered for the MXGP class alone, with nearly 17 full seasons’ worth of Grand Prix wins between them!

Headlining the formidable field in MXGP are eight World Champions with a combined 18 titles to their name!  Reigning MXGP Champion Romain Febvre returns to run his hard-earned #1 plate for Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP, and the 2025 MXGP runner-up Lucas Coenen is also back for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, keen to become the ninth title winner in the 2026 line-up!

However, the big news at the start of January centred around the movements of the two massive five-time World Champion sharks in the water, Jeffrey Herlings signing with Honda HRC, and Tim Gajser moving to Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP.  Both men have changed teams for the first time in their Grand Prix careers, and with a mammoth 164 GP wins between them, they are working hard to get to know their new steeds in preparation for the first gate drop in Argentina!

Besides Febvre, 2026 sees the return of his fellow Frenchman and two-time MX2 World Champion, Tom Vialle, who lines up alongside Herlings and the retained Ruben Fernandez at Honda HRC, in what will be his debut in the MXGP class.  Maxime Renaux will be the other French former World Champion in the mix, and he stays with the Monster Energy Yamaha team with whom he won his 2021 MX2 title.

Former MX2 Champions Kay de Wolf, Andrea Adamo, and Pauls Jonass complete that amazing eight, and they return with Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, and Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP.  De Wolf and Adamo will be making their MXGP debuts with the benefit of many months of practice since the end of last year’s MX2 Championship, in which they both scored multiple GP wins and came home second and third in the series.

The man who denied them both, Simon Längenfelder, returns to defend his crown with the #1 plate for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, although he makes the shift to the KTM Austria team instead of Davide De Carli’s Italian-based squad.  He will have to contend with GP winners Liam Everts and Sacha Coenen, who both stay with their previous factory Husqvarna and KTM outfits.

Other major movements include Calvin Vlaanderen and Andrea Bonacorsi joining Jeremy Seewer at Ducati Factory Racing MXGP, now run by Louis Vosters.  Fantic Factory Racing MXGP will now be run by Jacky Martens, and field Brent van Doninck and Alberto Forato, while a third Italian manufacturer takes on Jago Geerts and MXGP rookie Rick Elzinga to MRT Racing Team Beta.

Another high-profile rookie in MXGP is Thibault Benistant, switching classes to join Kevin Horgmo on Team Honda Motoblouz SR Motul.  Oriol Oliver also moves up with Gabriel SS24 KTM, while Mattia Guadagnini shifts to Van Venrooy KTM Racing Team.

Exciting young Frenchman Mathis Valin stays on with Kawasaki Racing Team MX2, while his successor as EMX250 Champion, Janis Reisulis, joins his brother Karlis on the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MX2 squad.  His rival from 2025 and former EMX125 Champion Noel Zanocz, makes his GP debut for Van Venrooy KTM.

Triumph Factory Racing Team continue with Camden McLellan and Guillem Farres, both keen to claim the first GP win for the team to go with their race wins from last year.

Ferruccio Zanchi will make the exciting 250cc debut for the Beddini Racing Ducati Factory MX2 Team, bringing an eighth manufacturer to the MX2 class.

Other movements include Cas Valk joining TM Moto CRD Motosport, and Marc-Antoine Rossi hoping for an injury-free season to show his potential for the new Maddii Racing Honda ABF Italia organisation. Valerio Lata stays with Honda HRC as their lone MX2 rider.

Dutchman Scott Smulders returns to the OAT list with the SixtySeven Racing Team, while his countryman Kay Karssemakers will line up for his first full year with the DRT Kawasaki team he moved to mid-season in 2025. The Czech team Osicka MX Team will also feature as OAT in MX2 with Julius Mikula from the same country.

It’s fantastic to see ten manufacturers again competing with factory efforts across both classes in 2026! It promises to be a fantastic season with GP winners almost impossible to predict from round to round!  The 2026 MXGP World Championship is one that simply cannot be missed!

LAENGENFELDER TRANSITIONS TO RED BULL KTM FACTORY RACING FOR 2026 MX2 TITLE DEFENCE

FIM MX2 World Champion Simon Laengenfelder will steer his KTM 250 SX-F from the confines of Red Bull KTM Factory Racing and the Austrian set-up for 2026 as teammate to Andrea Adamo.

The 21-year-old German will look to become Red Bull KTM’s first back-to-back champion in the class since 2019 and shifts across from the Rome-based De Carli faction of the factory team for his sixth full Grand Prix term on Austrian machinery. Laengenfelder can rely on the proven stewardship of Team Manager Joel Smets and will be the sole MX2 entrant for the Austrian roster as Adamo makes his debut in the MXGP category with the KTM 450 SX-F.

Laengenfelder claimed his first MX2 world title (and Red Bull KTM’s sixteenth) thanks to six Grand Prix wins and 12 podiums from 20 rounds this year.

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing De Carli will continue to push the progress of Belgian twins Lucas and Sacha Coenen in MXGP and MX2 respectively.

DUCATI DESMO250 MX TO MAKE ITS DEBUT IN THE 2026 FIM MX2 MOTOCROSS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

After presenting its new team for the 2026 MXGP World Championship at EICMA, Ducati Corse Off-Road is now pleased to announce its participation next year in the MX2 World Championship and the European EMX250 Championship with the Ducati Desmo250 MX, which was raced this year in the Italian championship by Team Beddini Racing with Alessandro Lupino.

The Italian team, founded in 2019 from the off-road passion of successful Umbrian entrepreneur Dario Beddini, will once again take to the track in both championships with the new Ducati. Team Beddini has a short but highly successful racing history, boasting no fewer than four Italian motocross titles. Run with passion by team manager and former rider Joakin Furbetta, the Beddini Racing - Ducati Factory MX2 Team will debut the Desmo250 MX machines in the two FIM Championships, entrusted to two young Italian talents, Ferruccio Zanchi (MX2) and Simone Mancini (EMX250).

Ferruccio Zanchi was born in Florence on 6 September 2006. After three seasons in EMX125 and one season (in 2023) in EMX250, Zanchi competed in the full MX2 World Championship in 2024, and this year he claimed his first podium finish with third place in the Grand Prix of Castilla-La Mancha.

The latest addition to the Ducati off-road family will also compete in the European EMX250 Championship

Simone Mancini was born in San Severino Marche (MC) on 8 August 2007. He was runner-up in the 125cc World Championship in 2024, took the bronze medal in the European EMX125 Championship that same season, and is a four-time Italian Motocross Champion. Mancini will line up in the European EMX250 Championship for the second year.

Paolo Ciabatti, General Manager of Ducati Corse Off-Road: “We are very satisfied with the excellent work done this year together with Team Beddini and Alessandro Lupino in the Italian MX2 Championship: our main goal was to develop the new Desmo250 MX in competition, but achieving second place overall fills us with satisfaction. Now we are about to tackle an even more ambitious challenge, and we are pleased to be able to count on the support and professionalism of the team led by Dario and Joakin, both in the MX2 World Championship and the European EMX250 Championship. We are confident that Ferruccio and Simone will be able to get the best out of the characteristics of our new bike, which will soon be available to all enthusiasts through the network of selected Ducati dealerships.”

Dario Beddini, Team Owner: “It is with great pride that we are preparing to represent Ducati in the FIM MX2 Motocross World Championship. The path we began last season allowed us to grow and gradually enter the Ducati world, learning to work with people of extraordinary expertise, who brought the Desmo250 MX project to life, and finishing the Italian Pro Prestige Motocross Championship in second place with Alessandro Lupino. Now the challenge becomes even more demanding and exciting: to debut the bike in the MX2 World Championship and the European EMX250, contributing to the growth of two young talents like Ferruccio and Simone, and beginning a path that we hope will take them to MXGP with Ducati. Taking part in the development of the Desmo250 MX, which will soon be available to all enthusiasts, is a great responsibility and I am grateful to Ducati Corse Off-Road and Paolo Ciabatti for this opportunity. I am sure that through everyone's work we will be able to achieve great goals: if we have come this far, it is above all thanks to my team and their tremendous commitment.”
