Sportel magnifies MXGP's growth

FUNCHAL (Portugal), 10 October 2014 - The 25th anniversary of the Sportel media convention has been, once again, a great success. With Sportel being Youthstream’s opportunity to bring MXGP, the LIVE content as well as the 26mn Magazine to the attention of multiple broadcasters from various different countries, they are proud to confirm that the relationship with Eurovision, one of the biggest and most highly regarded television broadcasting corporations in the world, will continue.

In addition to the extended collaboration with Eurovision, renowned sports channels, Eurosport, beIN Sports, FOX Sports Asia, Bandsport, and MTV3 among many others have expressed their satisfaction with the quality of the 2014 FIM Motocross World Championship and are all looking forward to what the 2015 season will bring.

With MXGP’s global reach continuing to increase, interest from area’s of the world that are renowned for their enormous motocross following, such as Belgium, continues to amount. Channels such as Finland’s MTV3 and FOX Sports Asia have agreed to broadcast MXGP for another three years, while Bandsports has agreed to two. Meanwhile, negotiations between digital media companies that are interested in adding an MXGP LIVE link to their websites are on going and are looking very positive.

As the time at Sportel, the most prestigious convention for all sport related television and media, draws to a close, Youthstream is content with the agreements that have been made and the feedback that has been received regarding the 2014 season. Now, with the extension of a lot of great relationships as well as the welcoming of a few new ones, 2015 is not only set to be one of the greatest seasons ever motocross wise, but also media wise.

Video: Kawasaki riders carve up at MXoN

Last weekend another epic edition of the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations took place, where Monster Energy Kawasaki unleashed it's beasts.

Team France dominated for Monster Energy and Team Green, with all three riders, Gautier Paulin, Steven Frossard and Dylan Ferrandis taking MXoN glory. Meanwhile, Tommy Searle and Dean Wison, representing Team Great Britain, didn't do too shabby either with Searle winning the individual overall in MX2 and the team tying with USA for third (but ended up finishing fourth due to USA having the best race result on their score sheet with Dungey's second in race one). Other riders adding to the blurr of green ripping around the Kegums circuit were Team Australia's Chad Reed, most famous that weekend for cartwheeling down the start straight in the final race, and Team Switzerland's Arnaud Tonus.

The media team at Kawasaki Europe threw together a super sweet clip over the weekend. Click HERE to watch!
