After missing the 2025 event, the Czech squad returns to the international stage in Ernée, France on October 2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th!

Czechia brings a strong and experienced MXoN line-up, with Petr Rathousky providing valuable experience, Julius Mikula representing the country as its top Grand Prix performer, and Vaclav Kovar adding two EMX2T titles to the team’s impressive credentials.

This year’s Estonian Motocross National Team comprises Jörgen-Mathias Talviku, Harri Kullas and Sebastian Leok. Talviku has been a fill-in rider for the Fantic factory team at several World Championship rounds this year and has achieved results near the top ten in the MXGP class. Kullas has just returned from the Canadian Championships with a second-place finish, whilst Leok has won a round of the German ADAC MX Masters and shown strong pace in Europe in the EMX250 class.

We asked the national team members what experience they are taking from the season so far into the Motocross of Nations, how they would describe their team-mates, and what their thoughts are heading into this major competition.

Jörgen-Mathias Talviku

“First and foremost, the intensity of the World Championship. I’ve experienced that even more this year, but of course I need to take with me the experience and maturity gained throughout the season, as well as from previous seasons. I like Ernée. When I think back on previous races, this track has generally suited me well. The team is brilliant and I believe we work well together as a unit. Sebastian is having a season of good progress and Harri has also been working really hard all summer on the other side of the pond. The aim is first and foremost to fight our way into the A final and, of course, to give it our all there. I don’t really have any specific advice to give Seb. Mentally, he’s already been trained quite thoroughly under Tanel´s guidance. If I had to mention one thing, it would be that this isn’t a one-man show – all the lads have to keep fighting right to the end.”

Harri Kullas

“There’s a lot to take away from this season. We had tracks in Canada very similar to those in Ernée, so I can carry over the bike set-up from there, which helps with confidence and enjoyment. It makes me feel good about heading to Ernée! Ernée is a really cool place and track. My previous races there went well too, so we’re hoping we can repeat the same strong performance and, through that, the result as well. Sebastian has developed very well and had a strong year. His most recent races in particular have shown he’s performing well on tough tracks. At the moment, it’s easier to find 450cc riders in Estonia, but it’s great that we now have a strong rider in the 250cc class too! Jörgen-Mathias is performing just as well as he did last season. He’s determined to do his bit, and being a reserve rider for the factory team will certainly give him the experience and confidence to compete alongside the World Championship riders. So, on paper, we should have a really good team. As for the result, I think our first aim should be to make it straight into the final on Saturday. Once that’s done, as a small nation we could aim for the top 10 again. I believe Sebastian will get proper advice from his father, so I’ll be fully supportive and we’ll try to make him as confident as possible so he can get on with his work and ride.”

Sebastian Leok

“I’m taking the experience from all the races this season with me. The Ernée track actually suits me quite well – I achieved my best result there last year. I think Talviku and Kullas are good team-mates and they have a lot of experience. We’re going there to get a good result.”

Martin Arumäe: Sebastian could surprise us all

According to national team manager Martin Arumäe, Ernée has been a successful venue for Estonia. In 2015, Estonia finished fourth there, which also equalled the team’s best result of all time.

As for this year’s team, Arumäe sees great potential in combining three very different sets of experience.

“Looking at this year, Harri, Jörgen and Sebastian are currently the fastest. Sebastian has proved that he really is very fast on the 250. Harri has had a very good season in Canada, and Jörgen is still largely the fastest in the MXGP today. He’s standing in for Fantic’s factory rider Forato and has put in good performances both at Kegums and at the ADAC. I think we’ve got a good team. If we get off to good starts and nobody runs into any problems, we could end up with a really good result.”

This year’s Motocross of Nations is Sebastian Leok’s first, but Arumäe believes the young rider could spring a surprise at this major event.

“I’d like to think that Sebastian might surprise us all more than we realise. In fact, he’s also been training on a larger motorbike, a 350, and many people don’t even know that. He’s incredibly fast on a larger bike and is in no way inferior to our other two riders. Over the course of the season, he’s simply had a run of silly mishaps – he falls, someone crashes into him, or he gets caught up in the starting grid. But if everything goes to plan and those sort of daft situations don’t crop up, then I think he’ll ride very well. He’s so young and, in a good way, unspoilt. He perhaps doesn’t have that fear or nervousness inside him that some more experienced riders might have. I reckon he’ll go out there with absolutely no nerves. And of course, having a coach or father like Tanel by his side – you couldn’t ask for a better combination than that.”

The final class allocation for the national team will be decided following discussions with the riders and Tanel Leok. As things stand, one possibility is Jörgen-Mathias Talviku in the MX Open and Harri Kullas in the MXGP class. According to Arumäe, the physical demands of race day and the order of the races must also be taken into account.

“The MXGP riders get a lap’s rest, but for the others the races come one after the other. We still need to see how fit everyone is and talk to the lads to find out how they’re feeling. Harri will be back in Estonia by the end of the week, so we’ll bring Tanel along too and go through these matters.”

Before the competition, the national team also plans to hold a joint training day in France.

“Tanel and I agreed that, after the ADAC round on the last weekend of September, we’d hold a training day with them in France around 30 September.”

The Motocross of Nations, the most prestigious and best-attended team competition in the world of motocross, will take place this year from 2 to 4 October in Ernées, France. It is an event where the world’s top riders from more than 30 countries line up on the starting grid every year.

The Estonian national team has been a regular participant in the Motocross of Nations for 33 years and has repeatedly finished in the top ten. In recent years, Estonia has been able to put up a strong fight and has demonstrated a consistent level of performance amongst the world’s top nations. The goal for 2026 is to reach the top ten once again, and under ideal conditions, to finish in the top five – a result Estonia has achieved on three previous occasions.

The Estonian national team finished fourth at the Nations Cross in Ernée in 2015, which also equalled Estonia’s best-ever result. Harri Kullas, a key member of this year’s team, was also part of that squad.

The Royal Spanish Motorcycling Federation (RFME) has confirmed the team that will represent Spain at the 2026 Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations (MXoN), which will take place on 2, 3 and 4 October at the Raymond Demy Circuit in Ernée, France, for the 79th edition of the event. Jorge Prado, Guillem Farrés and Rubén Fernández will form the starting line-up, with Francisco García and Oriol Oliver as reserve riders, under the guidance of national team manager Paco Rico.

Spain sets its sights on the podium in Ernée

Spain heads into this year’s event with a genuine chance of challenging for the top positions. All three riders are enjoying an excellent run of form and will arrive in Ernée highly motivated to achieve a historic result for Spanish motocross. In addition, all three will have the backing of their respective Factory teams, forming a top-level line-up representing Spain with the aim of fighting for a podium finish. The team is also hoping for strong support from the large Spanish contingent expected in Ernée, who will cheer the riders on in their quest for the podium so eagerly desired by fans across the country.

Jorge Prado, the MXGP benchmark

Prado will contest his eighth Motocross of Nations, once again defending the colours of Spain. The MXGP rider arrives in excellent form following a season in the United States with Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, after missing last year’s edition of the event. The rider from Lugo highlights the strength of this season’s Spanish team and recalls their outstanding performance in 2023, when they challenged for victory at the Nations.

“This year we have a really strong team, with a lot of potential not only to fight for the podium, but also for the win. I hope we can repeat what we did in 2023 and take Spain to the top of the podium.” — Jorge Prado, MXGP rider.

Guillem Farrés, MX2 World Championship leader

Farrés will make his third appearance at the Motocross of Nations as the current MX2 World Championship leader with Triumph. The Catalan rider values the experience gained at this event and the strong understanding within a team that has already competed together at previous editions. He will arrive in Ernée — a circuit where he has not raced this season, but did compete last year — with the bike showing a highly competitive level of performance.

“We have a very competitive team and we know each other very well. I’m really looking forward to racing alongside this great team, and I know the result will come.” — Guillem Farrés, MX2 rider.

Rubén Fernández, among the MXGP World Championship’s best

Fernández will once again represent Spain at the Motocross of Nations after spending the season firmly inside the MXGP World Championship’s top five. The MX Open rider highlights the strength of this year’s team, with Farrés leading the MX2 World Championship and Prado continuing to demonstrate his usual level of performance. He is confident that, by combining their results, Spain can challenge for the podium in Ernée, a circuit that traditionally enjoys a fantastic atmosphere and huge crowds.

“I think this could be the year when we have the best team. If we can put all the results together, we have a very good chance of fighting for, at the very least, a podium.” — Rubén Fernández, MX Open rider.

Paco Rico, national team manager

National team manager Paco Rico is pleased with the level of the three riders and what they have been demonstrating this season.

“We have Jorge, who needs no introduction. For me, he is the best Spanish rider of all time and he is currently in a very good moment of form, as he is showing in the United States; Guillem Farrés, the current MX2 leader, who has become the rider to beat in this category and will be a key part of our team; and Rubén Fernández, who is inside the MXGP top five and always fights like a warrior right through to the chequered flag in a race as special as the Motocross of Nations.

I like to be cautious and respectful, as always, but I am sure that we are one of the five or six teams with the strongest line-ups at the moment. That is why we have to aim high and not put a ceiling on what we can achieve. Obviously, I would like to win. And I am clear that we have to approach this race with our sights set on the podium and on giving the Spanish fans something to celebrate. It would be the perfect way to round off the fantastic period Spanish motocross has been enjoying on the international stage over the past few years.

Freshly-crowned Canadian champions Dylan Wright and Dylan Rempel join Sebastien Racine on Canada’s Motocross of Nations team

Canada’s national team for the 2026 Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations has been confirmed: Dylan Wright, Dylan Rempel and Sebastien Racine will line up at the world’s most prestigious motocross race in Ernée, France, from October 2nd to 4th.

“I am very excited to have chosen the 2026 Team with a strong lineup of riders and 2 of them being newly-crowned 2026 Canadian Triple Crown Pro National Champions,” says Team Canada manager Kourtney Lloyd. “With Sebastien's impressive showing last year at the event it was a no-brainer that he would be once again on the Team, this time in the prestigious 450 MXGP class. I want to thank the riders for once again trusting in me and I am ready to get this year going and represent Canada to the best of our abilities on the world stage.”

With the Walton Trans Can Grand National Championship in the rearview mirror, five-time Canadian 450 champ Dylan Wright and first-time Canadian 250 Canadian champ Dylan Rempel have set their sights on the Motocross of Nations in Ernée, France. With support from the Gopher Dunes Racing Honda Canada team and Team Motoblouz Honda Motul SR in France, they look to capitalize on the energy of those two titles as they represent the nation.

“It’s always an honour to represent our amazing country and our amazing moto community,” said Dylan Wright who earned his fifth 450 Canadian National title at Walton. “Racing at the pinnacle of the sport at Motocross Des Nations is always something you dream of. Add the fact that you are racing the best in the world and it’s a dream come true every time. Putting on the Nations colours and letting them fly will forever be something I am proud of doing. Looking back at the last time I was in Ernee, I know I am in a better spot now to put up the results I am capable of and get some redemption from last time! See you all there. Go Canada Go!”

Dylan Wright will serve as the anchor for Team Canada having represented the nation four times—most recently at the 2024 edition. He will lead the Canadian contingent in the premier MX Open class. In his recent MXoN outings, Wright has consistently punched above his weight on the global stage, securing 11th overall in the MXGP class in 2021 and 2022, and 10th in the Open category in 2024. He will strive for his best finish yet in the MX Open class in 2026.

After using his consistency and speed to lock down his first Canadian 250 title, Dylan Rempel is pumped to wear the maple leaf at Ernee for the first time.

“I’m really excited for this opportunity to ride for team Canada,” says Rempel. “I’ve always wanted to do this race and I’m going to work hard this next month leading up to the race to give my team and country the best result I can.”

After a strong rookie season in the 450 class where he finished 6th overall, after a broken collar bone took him out of the series early,  Sebastien Racine returns to the MXON for the second time looking for redemption after missing the A final in 2025. With support from Kawasaki SSR Racing and Bud Racing Kawasaki in France, Racine will race a KX450 in the MXGP class. 

“I’m beyond excited to represent Canada again this year,” says Racine. “It was a dream come true last year, and I was wishing that someday I could do it again! Here I am, going for my second year, and I can’t wait to show what we are capable of. We have a great team and great people working behind the scenes to make this happen! The Auto-Cycle Union (ACU) has confirmed Taylor Hammal, Ben Mustoe and Ben Watson will represent TeamGB at the 2026 Motocross of Nations at Ernée, France (3-4 October).

Hammal has been picked to represent Great Britain in MXGP, Mustoe has been selected for MX2 and Watson completes the team in the Open category.

This year’s selection reflects a slightly different approach from TeamGB Manager Mark Chamberlain who has put greater emphasis on giving opportunities to riders that have tested themselves in international competition and shown they can perform at that level.

Several British riders have competed in MXGP and EMX events during the season, including at the recent British Grand Prix at Foxhills, giving TeamGB selectors a broader pool of international performances to assess.

The selection approach also reflects the ACU’s renewed focus on supporting the development of British riders as they progress, and creating opportunities for them to prove themselves on the international stage.

While Hammal, Mustoe and Watson sit outside the ACU High Performance Academy programme for Motocross riders, their selection underlines the importance of recognising emerging talent at all levels.

“This year turned out to be tougher than I’d imagined when it came to choosing the team,” Chamberlain confirmed. “We’ve encouraged riders to race MXGP and EMX to test themselves more in preparation for the Nations, and it was great to see so many tackle the British GP in particular.

“The 250 spot was especially difficult because we now have a group of riders at a very similar level. Ben Mustoe just edged the others with his GP rides and the way his performances improved each time out. There was very little between that group and they should all take confidence from the domestic and international seasons they’ve had.”

Hammal has been awarded the MX1 place after a strong domestic start to the season and an impressive showing at the British GP – before his event was cut short after breaking his collarbone.

“Taylor showed some great speed at the British GP,” Chamberlain said. “His collarbone has been repaired and he’ll return to riding next week. I think he deserves this TeamGB opportunity.”

Watson meanwhile, provides valuable Motocross of Nations experience and has previously raced at Ernée – a purpose-built motocross track that is located in the north west of France.

Chamberlain said: “Ben knows this event and the track, and he has shown that he can raise his level at the Nations. He can help the two younger riders through the build-up and at the race. I think that will give us a good balance as TeamGB and help everyone to perform at a level that will make TeamGB proud.”

For Hammal, his selection is extra special. His first real memory of watching motocross came at Ernée 21 years ago, when he attended the Motocross of Nations with his dad, Chris. October’s event will mark the first time he’s returned to the venue in any capacity.

“It’s an absolute honour to be picked,” the 26-year-old said. “Everyone knows how special this event is, so to be selected for TeamGB means a lot. I feel like my riding has stepped up this year and it’s great that Mark has recognised that.

“There’s always pressure at the Nations, but my approach will be the same as it has been all year. I’ll go out, ride the best I can and give it everything. The track and the time of year should suit me, so if all three of us can perform at our best, I think we can give a good account of ourselves as a team.”

The Motorcycle Sports Federation of Japan (MFJ), a public interest incorporated foundation, will once again dispatch the Japanese national team, ‘TEAM JAPAN’, to this year’s FIM Motocross of Nations. The Motocross of Nations is the premier international motocross team competition, organised annually by the FIM (International Motorcycling Federation), in which national teams from around the world compete.

Last year, TEAM JAPAN reached the final for the first time in nine years and finished 11th overall. Although our ace rider, Shimoda, will be absent this year, we will take on the world’s top nations with the aim of progressing directly from qualifying and finishing within the top 15 in the final.

Germany’s national team for the 2026 Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations has been confirmed: Tom Koch, Maximilian Spies and Valentin Kees will line up at the world’s most prestigious motocross race in Ernée, France, from October 2nd to 4th.

Team managers Marcel Dornhöfer and Karsten Schneider are fielding a young squad that could well spring a surprise. Koch and Spies will race on 450cc bikes, both of them are bringing plenty of international experience from the Motocross World Championship and the ADAC MX Masters. Both have already raced for the German team in the past and therefore bring valuable experience to the Team World Championship. For Valentin Kees it will be his first appearance at the MXoN. But Kees has established himself well in the MX2 World Championship and ADAC MX Youngster Cup is ready for bigger challenges. Other leading candidates for the German line-up unfortunately had to turn down their participation. Ken Roczen has other contractual commitments in the USA, Simon Längenfelders doctors have recommended to undergo surgery immediately after the MX2 World Championship season. Simon is very bummed about it as he was very keen to possibly debut racing a 450 on World Championship level. And routinier Max Nagl is also sidelined with a knee injury.

“We see our team as an opportunity for the future and we are confident that we can put up a strong fight with Tom, Maximilian and Valentin. Of course, compared to previous years we lack a certain superstar power, but we have also learned in the past that a team without riders decorated with world championship titles can achieve a very good team result at the MXoN,” say Dornhöfer and Schneider. “Valentin will race in the MX2 category. For Tom and Maximilian, we will make the strategic decision shortly on who rides in the MXGP class and who in the Open class.”

Tom Koch

“I’m delighted to be racing for Team Germany once again. I really like the typically French track in Ernée with its hard ground and its many up- and downhills. With consistently strong performances from Max, Valentin and myself, a good result is definitely within reach. We will give it everything,” says Koch.

Maximilian Spies

“It is a dream to race for Germany at the Nations once again. After being severely affected by health problems last year, I hope that my condition will be better this time around. I was still able to gain a lot of experience in the USA and now I know the ropes. I scored the best result of my career in Ernée in the EMX250, so the track really suits me. I will throw everything at it so that we can deliver a good result for the fans,” says Spies.

Valentin Kees

“A huge dream is coming true for me. Even though I have developed well as a rider, being selected for the German team is something very special and I really appreciate it. I know the track from the past and it suits me very well. I wanted to watch the race on site anyway, with its crazy fans and great atmosphere. Now it is even better that I get to experience it straight from the rider’s perspective,” says Kees.
