SEXTON, HYMAS AND PLESSINGER TO COMPETE ON BEHALF OF THE UNITED STATES AT THE 2024 MONSTER ENERGY FIM MOTOCROSS OF NATIONS

A trio of top-flight motocross racers will represent the United States at the 2024 Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations, which will be held Oct. 4-6 at Matterley Basin in Winchester, U.K.

Leading the charge for the United States will be Chase Sexton, who will be joined by Aaron Plessinger and Chance Hymas during the three-day event.

“This team has the shared mission of bringing the United States back to the top of the podium on the world stage, and will fight hard to accomplish that goal,” AMA Director of Racing Mike Pelletier said. “We have brought together three outstanding racers that are eager to represent their country. I cannot wait to see what we accomplish this year as a team.”

Sexton — who aided the United States to the 2022 Motocross of Nations title — will take over as team captain for Team USA this year and will compete in the MXGP Class for the stars and stripes.

“There is no greater honor than getting the opportunity to show your real patriotism on a world stage and represent your country overseas,” Sexton said. “I’ve had the opportunity to be part of a winning Team USA before, and there’s no greater feeling than standing on top of the podium waving the red, white and blue. I’m lucky enough to get that chance to do it again this year alongside two great teammates.”

“I couldn’t ask for a more America-loving teammate than Aaron, who I know will give it his all as he has all season,” Sexton continued. “Chance I know well and he has shown a lot of speed all season long, so looking forward to building the bond with the boys and vie for the top spot in the UK in a few weeks.”

Plessinger returns to the Motocross of Nations for the second-consecutive year and will battle for glory in the Open Class.

“Man, I love America! I am so happy they have asked me to be part of Team USA again. Last year was bitter-sweet for me. Bitter we didn’t win but sweet because I got to put my money where my mouth was and show up with my American spirit on full display,” Plessinger said.

“This year I want redemption and just want it to be sweet,” Plessinger added. “I get to represent my country on the world stage alongside my teammate Chase, which is just awesome. And I look forward to getting to know Chance even more and hopefully some of my Americana will rub off on him. Let’s go USA!”

At just 19 years old, Hymas is the youngest member of the team, but the significance of the event is not lost on the budding motocross star. Hymas will race on behalf of the United States in the MX2 Class.

“It’s an honor to be chosen to represent team USA this year. It’s been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember to race Motocross of Nations,” Hymas said. “It means so much to get the support from Team Honda HRC and the AMA. I can’t thank Mike Pelletier enough for believing in me and giving me this opportunity to go represent my country against the best in the world!”

The United States will once again be led by motocross legend and team manager Roger DeCoster, who competed on six victorious FIM Motocross of Nations teams during the 1960s and 70s. Since his retirement from racing, DeCoster has remained an integral part of the sport as a team manager for several AMA Supercross and Pro Motocross teams. DeCoster has led the United States to 21 FIM Motocross of Nations team victories.

“I’m pleased we are able to put forward another strong contingent of riders at this year’s 2024 Motocross of Nations. All three riders were quick to sign on for the opportunity to represent their country and fly the red, white and blue flag for Team USA in the UK,” DeCoster said. “Chase, Aaron and Chance all had extremely strong Motocross seasons this year and earned their positions on the team. I have high hopes we will be waving the USA flag from the top step of the podium this year.”

MONSTER ENERGY FIM MXON TEAM DENMARK ANNOUNCED

Team Denmark has been announced for defending the national flag in United Kingdom with three international riders as :

Mads Fredsøe (MXGP – #115)

Mikkel Haarup (MX2 – #116)

Nicolai Skovbjerg (MXOpen – #117)

National Team Denmark coach Emil Larsen :

There have been several obvious Danish drivers to choose from who have done well throughout the season. In the end, we have selected a relatively young team, which I am convinced has great sporting results ahead of them for the next several years.

When we look at them individually, Mads Fredsøe has shown a nice development over the season with good results in both the EMX and World Championship events and in other international races. Mikkel Haarup is riding well at the World Championship, and even when it is difficult, he has the speed and experience to get good results. And Nicolai Skovbjerg has had good stability by e.g. EMX, and not least he has just become Danish champion in A-MX2.

So I believe that the team will do well at MXoN in October, and of course they hope to see a lot of Danish fans standing and cheering at Matterley Basin.

TEAM LATVIA RIDERS LINEUP FOR MONSTER ENERGY FIM MXON IN MATTERLEY BASIN!

Team Latvia has announced their rider line up for the 2024 Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations that will take place in Matterley Basin on the 4th, 5th and 6th of October.

The young Latvian line-up will have all their chance to get a good results in at the MXoN.

MXGP - Mairis Pumpurs

MX2 - Karlis Reisulis

MX Open - Edvards Bidzans

Latvia’s 2024 Valdis Seratinskis, the head of the National Team of the Year:

This year, we have selected this year’s strongest motocross riders in the National Team – Mairus Pumpurs, who is versatile, even taking part in international motocross stages, has shown good and notable results. He looked very good on the track also in the Madona round of the Latvian Championship. Karlis Albert Reisulis is our current World Championship TOP rider in MX2 class. Edvards Bidzans is strong on the big motorcycle, as we also saw, in the final stage of the Latvian Championship in Madona, Edvards Bidzans showed a very good result – 1. a place in the MX1 class. As well as in international European stages, he rides very well and stable. Pauls Jonas will not start this year due to an injury sustained in the Latvian team. This is the composition of our team this year, the main task is to qualify for the A final and wish our athletes success this year!

Roberts Justs, the coach of the Latvian National Team:

Unfortunately, Paul Jonass will not be able to participate in the Latvian National Team due to injury. Wishing him a successful recovery. In terms of age, we have a relatively young lineup of riders. I think this is a good one. Starting with Karlis Reisulis who is showing very good performance in MX2 class. He also did well on this Matterley Basin track. Edward Bidzans, who has successfully switched to a 450cc motorcycle and is progressing very well every weekend. I think Edward will also continue his progress and will be even better on a motorcycle by the time of Motocross of Nations, as he is now. The third rider – Mairis Pumpurs, who showed good performance in the European Championship stages, where he fought for the TOP10 places. He has also now stepped on a 450cc motorcycle and we saw that he can show good speed. All athletes have another month to prepare, so I think it is only positive for the Latvian team. Both Edward and Mairis will be able to prepare well and also Karlis, I think, will keep good form until then. The track may not be the most handy for Latvian athletes. Last time – 2017. in the year when the Motocross of Nations took place in England at the Matterley Basin motocross, the Latvian team was unable to qualify. It is with deep “spurs”, big jumps. England will be rainy in October, mud. I think A final is real for our national team and this task should be accomplished. Then you have to fight for each place further. Mairis has also ridden this track. Last year showed good performance in the European Championship EMX250 class. The positive thing for the Latvian team is that Karls and Mairis already know this track. ”

MXON TEAM SWITZERLAND PRE-SELECTION UNVEILED

The Motocross of Nations will be held this year on October 4-5-6 in Matterley Basin, UK.

Last spring, the CEO of Swiss Moto, Rolf Enz, presented a top-notch team to support the Swiss team this year. Mat Rebeaud (Team Manager), Diego Clément and Fabian Tellenbach will accompany the riders for the 2024 edition.

Switzerland does things differently and thoughtfully. A preliminary selection of five riders for the Motocross of Nations has been made. To keep the suspense, the final selection, which will include only three riders, will be announced after the national Grand Prix in Frauenfeld (TG) this weekend.

The five riders have distinguished themselves through their performances at both international and national levels. They are:

Jeremy Seewer: Currently in 5th place in the MXGP World Championship, riding this year in the team of ex. Formula 1 driver Kimi Räikkönen. He has achieved many respectable successes this year and definitely has the potential to be on the box in his categorie.

Valentin Guillod: Valentin is already a permanent guest in the top 10 of the premier class. He can carry his momentum from last season into the 2024 season and continue to move forward. Even a heavy crash in the Czech Republic could not stop the 9th-placed rider in this year's MXGP championship. The experienced rider has a lot of motivation and wants to take his momentum into the “Nations”.

Arnaud Tonus: An experienced and passionate rider, a young father, we known him for his great technique and immense experience in MXGP with several podiums in the big boys classes. With multiple participations at the Motocross of Nations, he currently dominates the Swiss championship in the premier class (after winning in 23'), once again proving that he is one of the best riders in the country. With a committed heart to representing Switzerland at the highest level, Arnaud Tonus continues to be a key figure in motocross.

Nico Greutmann: Nico is shaking up the ADAC MX Masters Youngster Cup this year and has his name at the top of the championship standings after winning several races. The Red Plate was one of his childhood dreams. He has definitely earned it, the title is within reach with his Cat Moto Bauerschmidt Husqvarna. He was also able to make his mark in the European Championship in Sweden, finishing in the top 10.

Kevin Brumann: Kevin is collecting points in the premier class of the World Championship this year. He continues to make progress on his Sixty-Seven Husqvarna and already has 34 championship points to his name. At the age of 20, he is definitely a promise for the future; his current form and speed are just right.

In the selection process, both the established riders of recent years were taken into account, supplemented by two young up-and-coming riders who have already been able to set one or two exclamation marks.

The official MXoN Team Switzerland will be announced on Thursday, August 29 at 8.00 pm. The highly motivated support squad is focused on the upcoming event so that the riders can seamlessly build on the 2023 wave of success. Specific goals for this year's event will be communicated when the official team is announced.

MXON TEAM GERMANY 2024 WITH ROCZEN, LÄNGENFELDER AND NAGL

  • Ken Roczen leads the MXoN Team Germany in Matterley Basin/GB
  • Simon Längenfelder competes in the MX2 class
  • Max Nagl races in the Open category

The MXoN Team Germany line-up for the 77th Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations, taking place October 4-6 at Matterley Basin, UK, has been finalized. With Ken Roczen (MXGP), Simon Längenfelder (MX2) and Max Nagl (Open), Team Managers Marcel Dornhöfer and Karsten Schneider present a very strong team that many experts believe has a good chance of finishing on the podium.

Ken Roczen will return to the german team for the MXoN

The FIM Monster Energy Motocross of Nations, or MXoN for short, is the most prestigious MX race of the year. The 77th edition of the Team World Championship will take place on October 5th and 6th at the British track in Matterley Basin, located about 200 km west of Dover. The DMSB-nominated Team Managers, Marcel Dornhöfer and Karsten Schneider, have been able to start planning for 2024 early and are confident that they have assembled the best possible team for this year's MXoN from the six-man squad. Exciting news is the participation of superstar Ken Roczen in the MXGP class, where he won the Individual Rider title last year. "I am excited for another go at the Motocross of Nations. This one feels extra fun for me as Matterley Basin is one of my favorite tracks. I’m hoping for good teamwork with Simon and Max and an exciting weekend. If we can make smart choices and avoid making little mistakes, and of course the big mistakes too, I think we can have a shot at the podium! We have a really strong team and everyone has experience at MXON and at Matterley Basin. I’m really looking forward to the event this year," smiles Roczen, who will race the #10 in the MXGP class.

Simon Längenfelder is looking for a top result in Matterley Basin

Like Roczen, Simon Längenfelder is hoping for a top result in the MX2 class. The Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing rider recently proved that he is one of the fastest motocross riders in the 250cc class with a race win in the MX2 World Championship and a third place finish in the World Championship standings. "I am very happy to be part of the German team again. With Ken and Max we are very well positioned. Matterley Basin is a good track and I have good memories there. I got my first Grand Prix win there. We will all do our best and as we showed last year, we are capable of a lot," says Längenfelder, who will start with #11 in the MX2 class.

Max Nagl is like a good wine: the older the better

Max Nagl proves that being 36 years old does not prevent a top athlete from achieving success. After a two-year hiatus, the veteran is returning to the MXoN for the 18th time, making him one of the oldest and most experienced riders in the race's history. "I'm really excited to be back. I rode my first MXoN when I was 16 and have only missed it three times since. Matterley Basin will probably be my last go at the MXoN, but I am motivated and we have a good team. We have podium chances, although luck is always a factor, but a top-five finish should be possible," beams Nagl, who will ride his trademark #12 in the Open category.

Ken Roczen and his teammates are aiming for a podium result

Teammanagers are looking forward to the Motocross of Nations with confidence. "With the return of Ken Roczen and Simon Längenfelder, and the addition of Max Nagl to the team, we have a strong squad heading into Great Britain. Last year we just missed out on the team podium, and Ken won the MXGP individual championship against many factory riders. We hope that luck is on our side this year and that all our riders get good results in the three races. Then nothing should stand in the way of a good result," say Dornhöfer and Schneider.
