The Boys are Back in Town - Issue 110 MXGP Mag

THE 2022 FIM MOTOCROSS SEASON IS OFFICIALLY OVER FOR ANOTHER YEAR AND WHAT BETTER WAY TO CELEBRATE IT THAN WITH THE BIGGEST RACE OF THE YEAR; THE MONSTER ENERGY FIM MOTOCROSS OF NATIONS. WHILST ‘MXON 74’ WAS MEMORABLE AS THE ONE WHERE ITALY WON ON HOME SOIL AT MANTOVA, THE 75TH EDITION WILL BE REMEMBERED AS THE ONE WHERE LIFE WAS FINALLY BACK TO HOW IT WAS PRE-COVID, AND WITH THE EVENT HEADING BACK TO AMERICA FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 2018, ALL EYES WERE ON THE HOME TEAM AS THEY LOOKED TO LIFT THE CHAMBERLAIN TROPHY FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MORE THAN A DECADE.

When the curtain came down on the FIM Motocross World Championship season in Turkiye at the beginning of September, all gossip and attention immediately turned to the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations which was now just three weeks away. Not since 2019 had the keyboard warriors and paddock chatter been so loud ahead of the biggest race on the motocross calendar, and no matter where you went, it seemed as if everybody had booked their ticket long in advance in order to witness this fantastic spectacle.

Infront Moto Racing was present to meet existing partners as well as discuss TV rights for the upcoming season of the FIM Motocross World Championship.

Infront Moto Racing renewed partnerships with current major broadcasters such as Eurosport for the next 3 years, same for Motorvision that had the pleasure to extend for further three years in order to air the “Behind the Gate” magazine and some selected MXGP events LIVE.

Same for MTV Finland which has been partnering with MXGP in the last two years showing the MXGP Race 2 LIVE plus the full MXGP of Finland. The deal, which is still on until the end of 2023, might be renewed for 2024 including for other 4 years of coverage.

MXGP is growing interest every year with current major broadcasters confirming and increasing the successful cooperation with Infront Moto Racing such as Teledeporte in Spain and CBS SN in USA and RAI Sports in Italy.

In addition to meetings with the TV broadcasters, Infront Moto Racing’s technical partners including Cleeng, MXGP-TV payment service provider and TMG, Antipiracy provider and Eurovision, SNG provider and coordination, were also present at Sportel. Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing to complete 2023 Team by signing Lucas Coenen

Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing are excited to announce that Lucas Coenen has joined the squad ahead of the 2023 FIM Motocross World Championship. Coenen, who hails from Belgium, is set to compete in the MX2 class aboard the proven FC 250.

Coenen is one of the brightest talents to emerge from Europe in some time. Racing in the EMX250 class at fifteen years of age, he won seven of the final eight motos and secured second in the final classification. It was an impressive term aboard his FC 250 and such potential will be nurtured under the Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing awning.

With Lucas Coenen added to their line-up, Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing will run a rather exciting trio in the 2023 FIM Motocross World Championship. Kay de Wolf and Roan van de Moosdijk will enter the new term, which begins with the Grand Prix of Patagonia-Argentina on March 12, with title aspirations.

Lucas Coenen: "I am really excited to join Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing for the 2023 season! To start my MX2 career with a brand as prestigious as Husqvarna is an honour and I cannot wait to see what I can do on my FC 250."

Rasmus Jorgensen, Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing Team Manager: "Adding Lucas Coenen to Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing is exciting for all of us; he was so impressive in the EMX250 class earlier this year and already on a Husqvarna. I'm very proud of the Husqvarna brand, and it makes a lot of sense to continue writing this story together! 2023 is shaping up to be a great year for the team. Kay and Roan are extremely motivated to put the unlucky 2022 season behind them and have set their sights on 2023. We are counting down to round one!"

Sacha Coenen to make full-time MX2 debut with Red Bull KTM Factory Racing

Promising Belgian starlet Sacha Coenen will be Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s third rider in the 2023 FIM MX2 Motocross World Championship after confirming a multi-year KTM deal.

The soon-to-be sixteen-year-old (on November 9th) will join Andrea Adamo and Liam Everts on the works KTM 250 SX-Fs for next season since impressing with his natural speed and dedicated attitude in European Championship competition during 2022.

Coenen, and his twin brother Lucas, will enter MXGP for the first time next year. He has been recruited by the orange crew and will use 2023 to develop his skills, racecraft and physique at the highest level. Sacha will link with countryman and former multi world champion Joel Smets to oversee his development. Smets guided double MX2 #1 Tom Vialle from EMX aspirant to two titles in just four seasons between 2019 and 2022.

Coenen will also be able to count on the experience of new Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team Manager Tony Cairoli as the squad will now field a four-rider roster. Jeffrey Herlings will be the sole entrant in the MXGP class with the KTM 450 SX-F.

KTM’s freshest star was a moto winner in the 2021 EMX125 series and grabbed points in EMX250 outings in 2022 while still waiting for his fifteenth birthday. He could eventually follow Herlings, Jorge Prado and Vialle as full-time Grand Prix debutants with Red Bull KTM that went on to claim the gold number plate.

Sacha Coenen: “This a dream come true for me! I’m so happy to be joining Red Bull KTM Factory Racing. I have been riding the stock 2023 KTM 250 SX-F and love it so far and really like the power. I’m looking forward to working with Joel because I’m sure he can bring some things to my program that I don’t have. I know I have a lot to learn but I want to have fun and do as well as I can.”

Joel Smets, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team Trainer: “It is almost insane how much energy and motivation Sacha has, and, at the moment, he is the smaller of the twins! I don’t think I have ever seen so much determination and dedication for someone who is still so young. He still needs to grow physically and professionally and we need to work on the balance between his desire and his abilities. It will be a big challenge to guide all that energy…but we are really looking forward to it.”

Ufo Plast presents “Another Vision”

The Tuscan brand, on the occasion of the launch of the ‘23 collection, writes a new page in its history, continuing a path in constant evolution.

There are many challenges that Ufo Plast is facing in this new path of rebirth.

The real challenge is to look ahead to other visions, to go in the direction that is considered correct. Mainly by radically modifying some habits to preserve its own authenticity in this revolutionary process.

“Another Vision” is the concept of the launch campaign of the 2023 collection and it really wants to inaugurate a new vision, a new path that Ufo Plast intends to undertake after the recent acquisition with a new owner and a its new management.

The new collection, which will be officially presented at EICMA 2022, tells about the change of perspective and gives to the world an anticipation of the new entrepreneurial approach, consolidated during 2022. The brand has, in fact, entered a phase of renewed dynamism, to give a full expression of all the opportunities that the future reserves for the Tuscan company from a global perspective.

The goal is to achieve ambitious goals while also continuing on its usual path of Made in Italy production, thanks to tailored products with high durability, the result of decades of experience in the motocross sector.

Many products are the result of this new vision, starting with the line of monochromatic suits for adults and children, in six different colors with a minimal approach to the design of technical garments. Novelties, not to the sector, but certainly for Ufo Plast.

State-of-the-art protections, designed using materials and production techniques that fully satisfy the needs of athletes, such as: the use of the new Sensitive® fabric that guarantees freshness and breathability, Sas Tech® and Impact Tech® way more comfortable protective inserts, silicone details and customized piping for optimal comfort.

Great anticipation for the “Echus” helmet with a unique design, made of fiber, with headline flush with the shell, new padding and quick safety release system, level 6 approved.

An extended range of helmets for urban purpose has been created in addition to the “Sheratan” model which is the company’s evergreen in 8 colors.

Ufo Plast also presents a new range of travel gears, renewed in products and in graphics to adapt to daily needs on and off the track.

A new beginning is traced for this Italian company that aims to consolidate existing markets and look to new markets to strengthen its presence of “Made in Ufo Plast” all over the world, witnessed by the release for the first time of the entire collection of clothing also on the American market.

The company has in fact worked to develop a highly efficient logistics service based in Italy that can ship anywhere in a short time.

“Another Vision” marks a new era for Ufo Plast which anticipates a gradual introduction of products throu- ghout the year, to offer sportspeople from all over the world continuous innovations, in response to the new dyna- mics of the market, and with the aim of consolidating its position among the most important world players in the sector.

By sharing its new corporate vision, the company is ready to welcome experts and enthusiasts who are willing to carry out concrete growth projects together with Ufo Plast.

Ufo Plast’s vision is to always be by the side of anyone who wants to seriously explore their passions.
